Pre-departure time
2am – advised hostel per mail about arrival. Mistrust ability of old BB to wake me up. 1 Decision taken: Sleep with one eye open.
4am – waking time. Note: BB alarm clock worked.
4.15am – last walk along Ushuaia shore to reach bus terminal *cool*
Day 1: Ushuaia-Rio Gallegos
5am – departure with the bus (commun) from Ushuaia to Rio Gallegos. Temperature: n/a. Very cold until the first rays of light reached the bus windows. No music. No tee or coffee to warm freezing body let alone heart.
Traveling time: 12h. Including 1 ferry- & 2 Argentina/Chile border crossings. Note: “why make it simple, when we can make it complicated”. No panda dolphin seen in the Strait of Magellan this time *sigh*.
5pm – arrival in Rio Gallegos. Note: One word tba (to be added) to my Spanish vocabulary book ie se rompió*. Already heard a couple of time. Conclusion: ++ useful.
Day 1-2: Rio Gallegos-Puerto Madryn
8.30pm – departure time with exceptional bus change in Piedra Buena. Note: “cama” reservation became “commun” for the 1st part.
12am – police control: 45′-60′. Fellow bus rider being controlled.
4pm – arrival Puerto Madryn *happy*.
Post-arrival note: Puerto Madryn definitively warmer than Ushuaia. Life is good. Where can I drink a cerveza? *looking around*
*broken (bus)
